12.31.03 12:00am 2003 has been a light year for updates, and with the way things are going around here, 2004 doesn't look like it will be much different. One of my resolutions for the coming year is to update at least once a week, so set aside at least a minute each week to check out this page, and then say "harumph" because I haven't updated it in a while. I will get to the rest of my resolutions in an upcoming update. Tonight I returned home from a brief visit to Sonja's family in Minnesota. While there, we saw "Tony & Tina's Wedding," a very funny mock-ceremony that everyone I know would enjoy. I didn't know what to expect going in, but I really enjoyed myself. I'm off to bed now to prepare myself to be yelled at by my boss for something tomorrow. Good night! |

12.08.03 11:03pm For the past month, I've been training on the chyron system at work. The chyron operator is the one who puts all the name, title, location, etc., graphics in the newscast. In other words, if you make a mistake, everybody sees it. I had only been doing easy shows, like the 30-minute weekday noon show, and the early morning cut-ins. Both are pretty easy. Then last Thursday and Friday, I ran chyron for the 2-hour morning shows, which is a world of difference. Thursday went well enough, especially for my first time, but Friday was a total mess, and I was crapping it up left and right. Luckily I didn't have to work the rest of the day, so at 7am, I came home and promptly cried myself to sleep. Then today, Monday, I got to work at 4am, and decided to have another go at it, to make up for last Friday. Luckily, for me and my paycheck, things went a lot better. I only had one on-air mistake, and it technically wasn't my fault. All in all, I enjoy running chyron because it gets me out of the studio for a change. Plus, I like being in the control room during the shows. For a while, I resisted learning chyron because I didn't think I was ready, and I didn't want to be stuck at the station while everyone else got to go out on shoots. What I'm basically saying is that I am TEH STUPID. |
12.06.03 11:39pm So here we go again. Welcome to seancorcoran.net, version 4.0. The old design got to be a little too much to deal with, which is one reason I never updated it anymore. With this new layout, I'll be able to make more frequent, brief updates. Not everything is fully functioning yet, but it all will be soon, so stay tuned. All the pages in the menu above should work properly. |

In addition to redesigning the site, I've also created a new page of wallpapers for the SonyEricsson T616 phone, since I got one recently. You can find that page here. Since the holidays are upon us once again, I'll be doing a lot of working and a lot of traveling, so you can expect this site to pick up again after the first of the year. |

12.06.03 11:58pm Another update already. The contact page has been updated to the new design. Also, in case you missed it over the past week, check out this highly nutritious conversation I had over iChat with someone who thought they knew me. |
